Lan Yan can contribute some of her damage to the team as a driver through her Elemental Mastery scalings. Though it does sacrifice some of her shield strength.
Lan Yan's shield can undergo Elemental Absorption, meaning that her shield can absorb PHEC (Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo) and become more resistant to the element it has absorbed.
Lan Yan has to make contact with an enemy upon Skill cast for the absorption to take place.
Regarding Weapon Choices:
Hakushin Ring: This weapon excels when Lan Yan is in an Electro-based team.
