FAQ
Hello and welcome to the Genshin Impact Helper Team Build Guide!
This website aims to help players build their characters as optimally as possible, by providing the best weapons, stats, and artifact sets for each individual released character. This FAQ should help better understand the website a little easier.
This build doc features optimal weapons, artifacts, and stats for each individual character. This build doc assumes you are at least Adventure Rank 45, and are able to farm 5★ artifacts at the highest level domain.
The Doc Team has decided that it was time to modernize the guide and allow for easy guide translations. We also decided that Google Sheets is just... just terrible.
Very very unlikely. We understand that changing to a brand new location and adapting to a whole new layout can be difficult. However, we are constantly improving the site as we go. The old sheet will still be available to the public, however it will no longer be maintained.
The current supported languages are found in the dropdown menu at the top of the page. Not all languages are fully translated, but we are working on it.
No. Because gearing weapons and artifacts will vary from account to account, alongside endgame modes' mechanics shifting and enemies' HP values fluctuating, it's very difficult to ascertain baseline stats and statgoals for every character in every scenario.
Please understand that it does take about a week, potentially more, for testing on live servers to happen. The guide contributors are actively working hard to gather relevant information for said character. We can add characters as WIP, however their sections won't be available until the content is ready. Please do not use the feedback form as a method of demanding a character to be added.
It is difficult to update some characters due to their lacking presence in current endgame content, however, the Doc Team will aim to bring all characters up to speed eventually. There are over 100+ playable characters now, and managing each one can be very difficult for a team as small as ours. You can browse our Update Priority List to see if a build is due for an update soon.
If you hover over a weapon, it will list a broad acquisition source at the very bottom (For example: Craft, Wish, Event, Fishing, etc.). For a more in-depth guide on acquisition methods, check out the Genshin Fandom Wiki.
The rankings for each weapon and artifact are meticulously tested and calculated to where they are placed on the build doc. Do keep in mind that as new weapons and artifacts come out, certain rankings may be subject to change. What you see may not always be a permanent ranking.
The build guide focuses on optimizing character builds that best suit their desired playstyle and scalings. In other words, builds that the character functions best with. It wouldn't be in best interest to bloat the guide with meme builds such as Physical Zhongli or Machine Gun Gorou.
Energy Recharge varies in different teams. It's also difficult to provide an exact number for every scenario. As such, it is best to consult the Energy Recharge Calculator.
Almost every section was planned out with TheoryCrafting in mind. As such, the rankings provided are backed up with calculations, and are not just it's good because we said so. Do note that the sources of our rankings do not contain Pre-TC or leak content.
The build doc DOES NOT run on leaks or beta content. Only content that is officially released onto global servers. As such we cannot and will not make sections for unreleased characters. Please see the Genshin Terms of Service for more information.
We do not cover full team-building. However, if there are important synergies between characters, the doc will mention them.
For simplification reasons, the doc roughly uses the default keybinds on PC to represent abilities. Below you can find a legend of commonly used keys and their meaning:
N/NA = Normal Attack
E = Elemental Skill (tE = Tap; hE = Hold)
Q/Ult/A = Elemental Burst
C/CA = Charged Attack
P = Plunge Attack (HP = High Plunge; LP = Low Plunge)
D = Dash
J = Jump
W = Walk
(text) = Parenthesis/brackets may be used to specify when actions are performed less frequently, such as on the first rotation only, when available, or when optional.Numbers are sometimes used to specify the number of times an action is performed.
N# = Normal Attack # times
#[combo] = repeat combo # timesFor example, 5N2CJP should be understood as performing two Normal Attacks into a Charged Attack followed by a Jump and Plunge Attack, five times.
Yes. The Build Doc ensures there is at least 1 permanently accessible F2P option for each character, even if said option isn't the absolute best for them. Permanently accessible options includes weapons that are free from crafting, overworld chests in Mondstadt and Liyue, weapons acquired from Quests, Fishing, or the easily obtainable 3★ Gacha Weapons. F2P options for characters are highlighted within their sections.
4★ Characters may have varying constellation level assumptions, when this affects build choices, it will be mentioned. 5★ Characters are assumed [C0].
They are out there, but the Genshin Doc team doesn't manage them. To find them, please head to their respective official Discord servers.
